We've arrived at the MTC and have had a wonderful first day! We plan to update our blog every Saturday (Preparation Day), but did want to let our loved ones know that we've arrived safely and already love being missionaries!
We were told in our orientation that as of today, the church is in need of 6,925 senior missionaries and only have 4,782 - they are "desperately" in need of 2,200 more senior missionaries!
The Missionary Training Center is a special and unique place. It is awesome to be among so many missionaries - young and older, preparing to go forth to serve the Lord. We feel grateful, humbled and honored to be among them.
We express our deepest love and gratitude for our family members who, though we be miles or oceans apart, will be in our hearts. We are so thankful for all of you, for your love and support. We feel you near us, along with those we love who are beyond the veil.

Congratulations on your assignment and your early entry into the program. I am only sorry that we never got to Kingston to see you before you left. We will miss you, but will stay in touch through your writings.
ReplyDeleteToday is our 8th anniversary and we are both doing well. Still adjusting and getting settled into our new life here in MV. It's quite different and not always wonderful because we miss our old friends.
