Rome 2 Ward Building and District Missionaries

This photo was taken today at DDM (District Development Meeting). DDM is every Monday morning conducted by our District Leader. The assistants to the president are also in our district. We love being taught and instructed by these awesome missionaries.

This is the front of the Rome 2 Ward Building. You can see the name of the church under the eaves.

At this angle you can see that the building has 3 stories. The sliding door openings are locked shut and not used - behind them are the mission offices.

Parking is always at a premium. This photo was taken at the end of the 3 hour block, when members had brought their cars closer to the door to pick up their families.

Someday the Rome 2 ward will be housed in the stake center next to the temple! Here are some inspiring words from our Stake President about that future reality!

President De Feo’s talk:
The Lord is asking a lot of this ward because within this ward will be the temple of the Lord. A lot of leaders in the stake come from this ward.
In Omni 1:26 we read, “And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and prayer, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved.”
Offer your whole souls… The Lord asks the best of us. When Adam and Eve were expelled from the garden, in that difficult situation the Lord asked them to offer a sacrifice of their first fruits and the best lamb.
The Lord asks the best of us in the most difficult period of time – always. When we do this, he gives the best to us – a temple, a stake center.
He is asking us to give our best time – not just what remains, but our best.
In Hebrews 11:4 we learn, “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain…” Abraham was asked to give the best he had. Hebrews 11:17 “By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac…”
The Lord does not need our sacrifice. He wants to know if we are willing to give the sacrifice – and when we do, the blessing we receive is this – the Lord multiplies our offering and returns it to us. Pay attention to what you give to the Lord because it will be returned to you. I promise you, if you will give your best to the Lord every single problem will be resolved for you.
He then invited the saints of Rome to once again join in a fast this Sunday for the temple.
