Zone Gathering - Sonja and Stefan's visit

Wednesday - June 2, 2010
Rome Zone preparation day gathering. Our Zone's last official gathering with President and Sister Acerson
We enjoyed good food and fun!

When the missionaries got a look at Elder Burt's frisbee skills...
they all wanted him on their team!

Great missionaries have a great time together!

The highlight of our week was a four day visit from...
Sonja and Stefan!
Thursday we drove to Tivoli and hiked down to the waterfalls.
On Friday we had tickets to the Vatican Museums.
We saw some amazing things!
Historical - Inscribed cylinder of Nabuchadnezar 605-562 B.C.
Mythical - Laocoön warned his fellow Trojans against the wooden horse presented to the city by the Greeks and because of that the gods sent serpents to destroy him and his sons. Whimsical - the animal room
Mosaic - floor coverings
Famous paintings like - The School of Athens by Raphael
But the absolute highlight was the Sistine Chapel!
(photo from the internet since cameras are not allowed in there) Then we climbed to the top of St. Peter's for a fabulous view.
What a great day!!!

Always room for gelato!
Sneaky photo taken by Sonja on our bus ride home.
Looking over our balcony.

Looking up you can see us still on the balcony...

getting ready to say good-bye to those we love.
