We helped prepare a newly rented, unfurnished apartment for two sister missionaries to move into this coming week.
It is a ton of work for the senior missionaries assigned to do this duty so we volunteered to assist.

Two districts also came to help unload and clean the apartment. This photo taken through the screened window in the living room. The landlord who lives downstairs is Italian and was surprised that Elder Burt could speak his native language.

Swapping the handle on this fridge from the right side to the left proved to be quite a challenge and ate up a full hour or more!
These three Elders were put to work scrubbing the filthy kitchen floor. I assigned them each a row of three tiles and let the games begin!

Found these blinds to be filthy - so the elder removed them and put them to soak in the bathtub. But why is there a pass-a-long card on the bathtub?

The Sister missionaries wondered why their vacuum wasn't working very well. Elder Burt cut all this hair away from the rollers - YUCK! They were also disgusted. We assured them that it was the combined hair of many a sister missionary who had lived in their apartment. Below is a blurry photo of Elder Burt removing layers and layers of caked on dirt from the vacuum filter.
Needless to say, their vacuum cleaner works wonderfully now!
I couldn't leave you with a photo of dirt and hair to linger in your mind - so here is a beautiful view of NYC on a clear day - driving home from our apartment inspections.
He is the Incredible Hulk I would imagine. Sounds like a busy and successful day! Those missionaries are so lucky to have you two there!
ReplyDeleteYou should have told the sisters about all the mite colonies that were probably THRIVING in that vacume. I already told you how I felt about those sketches. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you with all those incoming missionaries.
