Yesterday, Saturday April 13, 2013, we had a zone service project at Liberty State Park.
20 missionaries (22 counting us) dug the grass away from the trees and then applied mulch. We worked from 9am to about 11:30am. It was a great experience. Maria, was mighty impressed with the amount of work that was accomplished.
The ferries are still not running to Liberty Island because of Sandy damage.
Hopefully by summer.
Elder Burt and Maria.
The man on the far right is Kash from India and the man in the blue sweat shirt on the almost far left is Johann, from Taiwan. Both were impressed with quality of the young men they worked with.
After the service project we took Elders Jester and Brinklow to see the Empty Sky Memorial.
Empire State Building between them.
New York Skyline.
