After leaving the Pantheon, while making our way to the Trevi Fountain, we encounter an older couple from Ogden, UT. They were exited to recognize us as missionaries. We met them while taking a rest along the way, as the heat of the day was getting to us. After some introductions, we joined this couple as we entered the San Ignazio Church. This was no small church, though quite a bit smaller in scale to St. Paul’s. It was nice to get out of the heat and into the reverence of a church again. We noted the high ceilings and the Michelangelo type of paintings on the ceiling. Here, we parted with the Ogden couple and decided to find some water, as we had exhausted our small supply. This we did in a narrow street grocery. It didn’t matter that it wasn’t cold.
It seems like every church you go into in Italy, whether small or large, has beautiful artwork.
