Trevi Fountain and Blue Ice Gelato!

We made our way to Trevi fountain, mostly by following the growing crowds. http://www.italyguides.it/us/roma/trevi.htm

After taking some pictures in front of the fountain, we started scanning the area for the famous Blue Ice (gelato business). We followed a narrow side street away from the piazza and soon spotted what we were looking for. After a couple of taste tests Sister Burt settled on a double scoop of strawberry and coconut and Elder Burt choose peach and cantaloupe. Mama Mia! That was THE BEST gelato we had ever tasted, far superior to any ice cream we have ever had. You can taste the real fruit and it makes your taste buds scream with delight (is your mouth watering?) We stayed inside the Blue Ice away from sun, crowds, and enjoyed the air conditioned spaces. While on our way back to Trevi Fountain, we were again recognized, even more enthusiastically, by another family from Utah.

  1. Sounds like you had a wonderful P-day doing the tourist-thing. I love all your pictures and especially your descriptions of yummy gelatos. My mouth IS watering. We're going to have to get you guys some cool hats, maybe one of those hats that has a built in fan. *smile* I love and miss you.

  2. It is fun to try the different flavors of the gelatos. And you do discover that some places definitely have better tasting gelatos than others. It sounds like you found a winner.
